Liam Gallagher
William John Paul Gallagher (born 21 September 1972) is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the rock band Oasis in the 1990s and 2000s, and later fronted the rock band Beady Eye in the early 2010s, before beginning a solo career after the dissolution of both bands. One of the most recognisable figures in British music, he is noted for his outspoken and abrasive manner; penchant for wearing parkas; distinctive singing style, in which he elongates vowels; and signature stance on stage, which consists of him holding his arms behind his back and singing up into a downward-facing microphone.

Seven songs were performed during the event, including Oasis' 'Wonderwall' Liam Gallagher, Take That and the Courteeners’ Liam Fray are among the notable names who took part in the sing-a-long livestream event ‘Together In One Voice’ in Manchester tonight (May 28).

The residents of Greater Manchester sang from their homes from 7:30pm, with the community event – which aims to “harness the power of music to connect their communities and bring them together in these challenging times” – taking place as part of Manchester International Festival’s online programme MIF LIVE.

The 30-minute virtual sing-a-long was livestreamed on YouTube – you can watch the full thing below – and featured a number of famous musicians, including Gallagher and Fray,
