But fans around the globe fell in love with her as the cheeky Penelope Featherington in the Netflix series. Now the 33-year-old has gone back to her roots as she returned to Galway following the success of the Regency series.

Showing off her comedy chops, she joked that she tells people Ed Sheeran’s Galway Girl is written about her. ‘Sometimes people believe me and it gets awkward,’ she joked, during a Netflix short film.
