The Warrington swimmer is the current European record holder and European champion over the 100m backstroke and she was in fine form in booking her place in the final with the fifth fastest time of 58.56.
However the 100m backstroke features three women who have all previously held the world record - American Regan Smith, Canada’s Kylie Masse and Australia’s Kaylee McKeown.
