Millions or Virgin Media customers are being urged to reboot their routers or risk missing a free upgrade.Earlier this week, the broadband company announced it would be releasing an upgrade to boost internet users' upload speeds.
While the update is currently being rolled out, it will only kick in after a full system reset, which takes seconds to do.The upgrade will allow internet users who upload files, send emails with attachments and post videos to platforms like YouTube at a much faster rate, the Mirror reports.
Virgin bosses hope the change will offer customers a more supportive and enjoyable service. After switching the broadband modem off and on, customers with M500 or Gig1 plans will see their speeds increase without paying extra.
Those with either package need to follow some simple steps to make sure the upgrade goes through. The tech giant has confirmed that M500 speed has boosted from 36Mbps to 52Mbps.
