A scientist working on a coronavirus vaccine has warned that it might to be ready in time for winter when the flu season kicks in.
The race is on to develop a working jab for the killer virus amid fears that the pandemic could re-intensify towards the end of the year just as flu season begins.
But John Bell, Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford University, said that Britain should "prepare for the worst" and has urged people to get their flu jabs to avoid "pandemonium" in hospitals.
