Police are appealing to bankers to keep an eye out for old style £10 notes after an elderly man's life savings were stolen. The 82-year-old man returned to his home on Penn Street, Heywood, to find he had been burgled and a quantity of money was stolen.
It is believed the money was taken between 9.30pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday, May 6. The offender is thought to have forced entry into the flat.
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection to the incident. He has since been released pending further investigation.
