Fraudsters claimed there had been suspicious activity in victims' accounts and said a cop would call at their home to collect their bank card or to take cash for safe keeping.
Cops have received multiple reports of the ruse over the last two weeks in Aberdeen and Stirling.DS Scott McKay, of Aberdeen CID, said: "I’d like to thank those who have assisted with our investigation so far.“We continue to carry out enquiries and I’d encourage anyone who believes they may have been the victim of a similar fraud to contact police immediately on 101.”Cops searched properties in Govan, Glasgow, and Stirling in connection with their investigation.Three men, aged 27, 32 and 56, have been arrested and charged in connection with the scam.A 22-year-old.
