A 'vulnerable' addict was murdered in a revenge attack, prosecutors allege. Leigh Smith, aged 48 and known by those close to him as Leroy, was found dead at his home.
He had previously informed police about the group of ' Salford gangsters' that he was 'in trouble with' who had access to guns and that 'he would be killed', Manchester Evening News reports.
Three teenagers have now gone on trial accused of Mr Smith's murder. Jacob Cookson, aged 18, and two others aged 17 who cannot be named for legal reasons all deny the murder.Prosecutors allege the murder was committed in 'retaliation', after Mr Cookson was hospitalised following an attack on him by another man in Mr Smith's home.
