Retail giant M&S has taken a bold stance against online body shaming after Vogue Williams, their ambassador and well-known TV and radio personality, faced cruel comments from trolls on social media.
The incident occurred when Vogue shared a video of herself modelling swimwear during a family vacation with her husband Spencer Matthews and their children Theodore, four, Gigi, three, and baby Otto, 15 months.
In the clip, she wore a black scalloped swimsuit, which she called one of her “faves”, and explained it could be worn as “a bodysuit as well.” The high street brand posted Vogue’s video on their Instagram page, however Vogue was swiftly bombarded with hurtful remarks about her slim physique. “You are beautiful but too thin,” one wrote.
Another added: “I wish that you would show a woman (dare I say it ?) who has love handles, tiger stripes et.al ?” Another said they stopped watching because Vogue was too slim.
