A vodka firm said to be a front for an international money laundering gang is on the verge of collapse. Nero Drinks Company was formed by 47-year-old Nicola Morrissey in March 2018 to manufacture the “premium” Nero Vodka brand.
Last September both Nicola, from Glasgow, and her Liverpool-born husband Johnny Morrissey, 62, were arrested near their luxury home in Marbella, Spain in a police investigation linked to the notorious Irish crime gang the Kinahans.
Spanish police claimed the Nero Drinks Company was a front to hide Morrissey’s alleged criminal activity on behalf of the Kinahan organised crime group.
A notice for striking off was lodged by Companies House last week against the firm as their annual accounts are two months overdue.Nero Drinks has been given another two months to respond or it will be struck off and dissolved.
