Viral makeup hack says you should apply blusher before foundation

Makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes claims it’s all about the order in which you apply your makeup products. Instead of applying your foundation first, followed by your blusher, Katie suggests doing it in reverse – and the results are surprisingly effective.
In a clip shared on the app with her 95K followers, Katie tells viewers to “layer the blush under the foundation for a really natural look.” “Slap on loads of blush,” she says, while applying a mix of shades from Danessa Myricks’ Beauty Dewy Cheek & Lip Balm Palette, £22.10 here.
Katie packs the colour onto the apple of her cheeks and along her cheekbones. “Don’t blend it too much,” she adds. We’ll admit, at first it looks like the MUA has been scrimping on her SPF, as the look is VERY bright – but like many of TikTok’s makeup hacks, it’s all about trusting in the process.
