G20, an action-thriller from Amazon and MRC that Viola Davis was set in November to both produce and lead, has been granted an interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA, the guild revealed via its website on Friday.
The project is the latest of high profile to land one, on the heels of Apple TV+’s series Tehran, New Line pickup The Watchers from Ishana Night Shyamalan, Glenn Close’s The Summer Book and A24 titles Mother Mary and Dreams of a Unicorn.
Sources tell Deadline that G20 made the cut for a waiver given its official status as an MRC production only acquired by Amazon.
But even if producers now have the agreement in hand, it’s not entirely clear if or when the film will gain real momentum toward production.
