In a heart-wrenching documentary aired on ITV called Finding Derek her husband also admitted at one point he wanted to ‘die’.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 53, had filmed her journey as her husband was admitted to intensive care in March of last year.
At one point Kate reveals how she has struggled to cope with the emotional turmoil of seeing her husband so gravely ill. ‘There’s been times where I’ve thought: “Am I actually grieving for the person I’m married to or am I fighting to hold onto that person?”‘ she asks.
