Video captures 'vicious scrap' surrounded by '200 schoolchildren' in Heaton Park

The incident happened yesterday evening on what was the hottest day of 2021 so far. Witnesses say large crowds gathered after a fight broke out between two teenage girls.

This was followed by a “big pile on” with “loads of kids rushing to see more”. It is believed there was also a second fight involving a group of boys.

Police were called but it is not known if they attended the incident. Collette Walsh, who witnessed the incident, described the scenes as “really upsetting”.
