Olympian Victoria Pendleton has sadly announced that her 42 year old twin brother has died after a battle with a brain tumour.The star shared the news with her followers via Instagram where she shared a sweet picture of the two along with a heartfelt statement.The sister penned: "Alex Pendleton 24.09.80 - 22.06.23 "If you know me then you likely know my twin brother Alex, I just wanted to let you know that this morning Alex sadly passed away after an epic battle against an aggressive brain tumour.

He will be painfully missed by many.”She then said: "Rest in peace my kind, brave twinnie, you will forever be in our hearts” The Olympian spoke about her brother’s character when she posted a birthday tribute for her twin to her Instagram last year for their shared birthday.

Victoria wrote “Happy Birthday Twinnie” before explaining that she feels “so lucky” and “blessed” to have him in her life and by her side.

She continued: “Alex is kind, thoughtful and very brave, despite all the uncertainty of his diagnosis and the treatment over the last 18 months he has remained positive and optimistic and never wanted sympathy.” Proud sister Victoria revealed that her brother was “always more interested in everyone else being ok and wishing them well” before she concluded and said: “I am so proud”.
