Victoria Ekanoye’s moving performance at Corrie pal Faye Brooke’s ‘fairytale ending’ wedding

There was barely a dry eye in the house when former Coronation Street star Victoria Ekanoye sang an emotional cover song at the stunning wedding of pal Faye Brookes.The 41 year old, who was in Corrie until 2019, performed a moving rendition of Des’ree’s I’m Kissing You during the church ceremony of Faye’s wedding to her theatre producer husband Iwan Lewis.The happy couple said their vows in front of 200 closest friends and family, who were blown away by Victoria’s version of the song, which was originally written for the 1996 Romeo and Juliet film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

Faye, 35, told OK! after their special day that the occasion was “everything I dreamt of and more”. “It does feel like a little girl’s dream to have her fairy-tale ending and I had it all,” she told us.The couple were married at the 13th-century church St John The Baptist in the village of Shipton Moyne, Gloucestershire, near the home Faye shares with Iwan, 34.

Victoria, who was diagnosed with breast cancer six months after giving birth to son Théo in 2021, and Faye have been close friends since their days on Corrie together, so it seems apt that she was asked to perform.Their wedding was full of personal touches - including a special appearance in the church by the couple’s two Pomeranians, Bao and Bear dressed in smart bow ties.

Recalling the moment she followed her five bridesmaids and stepped into the packed church, Faye said she couldn’t look at anybody but Iwan for fear of getting overwhelmed. “I could feel their energy, I could feel how excited they were,” she recalled. “I was overcome with emotion when my dad gave me away and seeing Iwan cry as well “It is a rare moment to see him cry, and when he does, it’s beautiful.
