dailyrecord.co.ukA thug who rained “haymaker” punches on a police officer before trying to gouge her eye out has admitted to the assault.Adam Wright is behind bars after launching the ferocious attack on PC Siobhan Sharkey in Fort William on August 22 last year.The 23-year-old repeatedly punched the officer in the face before grabbing her in a choke hold which left her struggling to breathe.The thug, who is from Kent, then stuck his finger into the 25-year-old’s eye in a bid to gouge it from the socket.The vicious attack only stopped when members of the public pulled the thug off the injured officer, a move which she believes saved her life.Speaking of her ordeal, Siobhan told the Record: “It was just a routine traffic stop and it went wrong very quickly.
