Vicente Besuijen has joined Excelsior Rotterdam as his Aberdeen stint comes to a close. The Dutch winger is heading back to the Netherlands on loan until the end of the season after being brought to Premiership territory by Stephen Glass last January.

He has made 42 appearances for the Dons in what has been a testing year in the north, with his new team in the Eridivise holding 'the option to acquire the player on a permanent basis at the end of the season.'Besuijen said of the move: "I spoke with the club and Excelsior's playing style and the club's story really appealed to me.

Moreover, I know quite a few guys who already play here and that is also an important reason for me to make this choice. My feeling is that I fit in well with this team.

As a result, I think I can quickly adapt myself to help the team maintain us at the highest level.Technical manager, Niels van Duinen, added: "With Vicente we bring in a boy with explosiveness and creativity, and someone who knows the Dutch competition well."He did well in the first half of the season at Aberdeen FC and now wants to make playing minutes with us again in the Eredivisie, as he did before at ADO Den Haag.
