Vernon Kay’s daughter has shared a two-word comment that reveals her close relationship with her celebrity dad. Phoebe Kay, 20, recently opened up about the close bond she shares with her BBC Radio 2 presenter dad, who has two daughters (Phoebe and Amber) with his wife, Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly.

Her heartwarming comments came during the Vanity Fair EE Rising Star party, held at the Pavyllon London, where both she and the ex-Family Fortunes star were in attendance.

Phoebe called her dad her "best mate", saying: "My dad and I are more like best mates - that's how we get on. We go out all the time on the sesh together." Vernon, who was marking 7.2 million listeners on his popular show, told the Mail: "The barman just added tequila to my drink." Vernon has previously shared his thoughts about raising children, offering his radio listeners a glimpse into his experience when his two daughters were still just babies.

Last December, one listener mentioned that they were 51 and had two kids under the age of two, to which Vernon responded by sending his "thoughts and prayers".
