One of the much-loved stars of long-standing ITV hit drama series Vera has sadly announced plans to step down from the role after an incredible eight years.
Actor Kenny Doughty, 47, who plays DS Aiden Healy in the popular detective series, revealed in an emotional statement on that his time on the show will soon be coming to an end.The star took to Instagram on Monday to let fans know the news, while thanking co-star Brenda Blethyn, 77, who plays Vera Stanhope for all the memories they made whilst working as an on-screen double act.
Kenny told his 38,600 followers: "After 8 years & 35 Vera films I’ve made the difficult decision of handing over DS Healy’s badge.
