One of the first celebrities to walk this year’s Oscars champagne-coloured carpet was Vanessa Hudgens, who kept it simple and chic in a vintage Chanel gown.
However, red-carpet commentators were quick to point out the dress was reminiscent of a Valentino dress that actress Julia Roberts wore when she won her 2001 Best Actress Oscar for her role in Erin Brockovich.
When accepting her award, Julia donned a vintage Valentino black gown with white halterneck straps, and her hair was worn in a loose bun.
For Vanessa’s red-carpet look, she opted for a classic vintage black and white Chanel gown, but updated it with more trend-led accessories to keep it look fresh and modern.
