Vanessa Anne Hudgens (born December 14, 1988) is an American actress and singer. After making her feature film debut in Thirteen (2003), Hudgens rose to fame portraying Gabriella Montez in the High School Musical film series (2006–2008), which brought her significant mainstream success.
The success of the first film led to Hudgens' acquiring a recording contract with Hollywood Records, with whom she released two studio albums, V (2006) and Identified (2008).
One of the first celebrities to walk this year’s Oscars champagne-coloured carpet was Vanessa Hudgens, who kept it simple and chic in a vintage Chanel gown.
However, red-carpet commentators were quick to point out the dress was reminiscent of a Valentino dress that actress Julia Roberts wore when she won her 2001 Best Actress Oscar for her role in Erin Brockovich.
When accepting her award, Julia donned a vintage Valentino black gown with white halterneck straps, and her hair was worn in a loose bun.
For Vanessa’s red-carpet look, she opted for a classic vintage black and white Chanel gown, but updated it with more trend-led accessories to keep it look fresh and modern.
