The 76-year-old Northern Irish singer-songwriter wrote and sings the nominated song “Down to Joy” from Belfast, but will not be performing during the ceremony on Sunday (March 27). The song will also not be performed, unlike all of the other nominees. Belfast received seven nominations at the 2022 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and was named one of the best films of 2021 by the National Board of Review.
Other nominees of the night include Billie Eilish and FINNEAS, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Beyonce and Diane Warren.
