USA's Nathan Chen Breaks Record for Highest-Score Ever in Men's Short Program at Olympics 2022! (Video)

Nathan Chen has earned his place in the Olympics record book! The 22-year-old American figure skater set a world record for the highest-score ever in the Men’s Short Program while competing at the 2022 Beijing Olympics on Tuesday (February 8) in Beijing, China. Click inside to see the video clip and read about the score… Nathan scored 113.97 points, which is the highest score ever recorded in the Men’s short program event.

Japan’s Yuma Kagiyama was in second place with 108.12 points and Japan’s Shoma Uno was in third place with 105.90 points.

The top 24 skaters at the end of the short programs advance to the free skates, which will take place on Thursday (February 10).

The combined scores from the short program and the free skating will determine who wins the medals. In 2018, Nathan placed 17th in the short program and placed 1st in the free skating for an overall 5th place finish.
