Urgent appeal for Scots teen missing over a week as police become increasingly concerned for her welfare

An urgent appeal has been launched for a Scots teenager, who has been missing for over a week. Concerns are growing for 17-year-old Jessica McMurray, who was last seen at Chance Inn in Crail, Fife, at around 2.15pm on Thursday, August 11.

Police Scotland say it is unusual for the teen to go so long without being in contact with someone. Jessica has been described as 5ft 4in tall, of a slim build, with short black hair in a buzz cut style.

She was wearing a black Calvin Klein sports bra, denim shorts and black hi-top Converse trainers at the time of her disappearance.Jessica has been missing before and travelled to the Glasgow area.

She may have been in Edinburgh on Friday, August 19. Police have asked anyone with information on her whereabouts to get in touch with them.Sergeant Andy Kirk said: “Jessica has been missing before but it is unusual for her to go this long without contacting anyone and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.“If anyone has any information regarding her whereabouts or has seen her, please contact police urgently on 101, quoting reference number 2074 of Thursday, 11 August, 2022.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here .
