Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Upgrading of gas network in Girvan will see 13 weeks of work starting on Monday

Girvan will see an upgrade to the town’s gas network as 13 weeks of work gets underway from Monday.Gas company SGN is investing £580,000 to upgrade the gas network in the town.SGN engineers will be replacing approximately 1.3km of old metallic gas main with new modern polyethylene PE pipe.SGN say the essential work will ensure the Girvan community “continues to receive a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.”The project will be carried out in two phases, starting on Monday, January 9 and lasting around 13 weeks.Phase one of the project will take approximately five weeks to complete and will see a three-way temporary traffic lights in place at the junction of A77 Bridge Street, Hamilton Street, Dalrymple Street and A77 Knockcushan StreetA diversion will be in place for heavy goods vehicles from the Bridgemill Roundabout onto the B734 Coalpots Road to the Shallochpark Roundabout and back on to the A77.Phase two will last for approximate eight weeks and from Monday, February 13, will see a southbound lane closure in place in Montgomerie Street with no access from the A77.Traffic will be diverted via the A77 Old Street, the A77 Bridge Street, left on to Hamilton Street and back on to Montgomerie Street.There will be two-way temporary traffic lights in place in Montgomerie Street between its junctions with Bourtreehall and Maxwell Street.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now.Get all the local news in your area – plus features, football news and the latest on the coronavirus crisis – at your fingertips 24/7.The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories while you can customise your page with the sections that matter to you.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now
