A trainer winning with half of all runners has set his sights on a first Royal Ascot triumph. Tom Clover is aiming Holy Kingdom at next week's prestigious fixture, fresh from his successful return for the season at the Guineas meeting.
At the start of play on Friday, the Newmarket trainer had a 50 per cent strike rate for the week, with five winners from just ten runners.
He hopes the run of form is a good omen for the big event, where his charge will hopefully run in either the Copper Horse Handicap (Wednesday, 1m 6f) or the Duke of Edinburgh (1m 4f, Friday).
