Boris Johnson owes his life to the skills and diligence of nurse Jenny McGee and her NHS colleagues who treated him in his darkest hour.

But the Prime Minister chose to reward them with an insulting 1% pay offer. Jenny, who treated the Tory leader when he was on oxygen in intensive care in April last year as he battled Covid, has responded to the betrayal by quitting the NHS.

She said she is “sick” of the way they have been dealt with. The intensive care nurse joined Mr Johnson at a Downing Street garden party last July but has revealed she snubbed him when she was asked to take part in a clap for carers. What is your view?
