An old bank that has stood empty for years on Stalybridge’s high street could soon become a hotspot for nightlife, food and drink.
Plans for a restaurant, bar, event space and a barbers have been tabled with Tameside council - to convert the historic bank, built in 1884.
A terraced dining area; an underground cocktail bar section; and a private function space are among the features of the plans for the Market Street site.
The applicant, listed as Andrew Fogg, said he believes the ‘adaptive reuse project’ can revitalise the historic structure and contribute to the local economy as well as ‘enhance the community's social and cultural fabric’.
