Torrential rain is set to batter the west of the UK today with warnings of flooding in badly hit parts of the country. Met Office forecasters have warned up to 200mm - or nearly eight inches - of rain is expected in less than 24 hours, with Saturday looking like a washout for many Brits.
There's better news for some though, with temperatures as high as 17C predicted for parts of the UK, by far the warmest of the year so far.
There are currently six weather warnings for rain in England, Scotland and Wales with the latter expected to see the worst of the downpours.
An amber warning - the second most serious - is in place until 6pm on Saturday for much of south Wales, meaning heavy, persistent rainfall creating a risk disruption to transport
