The UK is on said to be on its way to having a record breaking "worst ever year for storms since records began" This season has seen nine storms already and is well on track to break the record, the Mirror reports.
Over the last 24 hours, Storm Isha has battered the country with the whole of Scotland feeling the effects of winds topped 80mph in some areas.When the naming of storms first began back in 2015/16, the furthest along the alphabet of names the UK has seen was Storm Katie.
This year, the country has already suffered through nine successive storms, with the possibility of a tenth just around the corner.During this period, the storm beginning with the letter I struck in February.
Notably, 2024 is a month ahead of the record with Storm Isha happening just this weekend.Just today, Storm Jocelyn was named by Met Eireann with strong winds and heavy rain set to batter the UK.
