UK weather: Heavy snow to blanket large parts of country after Scandinavian ice blast

mirror.co.ukLarge stretches of the UK could be hit with as much as 20cm of snow in one day as the wintery weather continues into next week.
From 10pm on Monday through to the end of Tuesday Met Office yellow weather warnings are in place for most of England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.
In the evening a large wet weather front will sweep up the country from the South West, dumping up to 8mm of rain an hour as it goes.
Come the early hours of Tuesday icy rain will turn to snow when it hits the North East of England and Scotland. For those in low lying areas from everywhere north of Birmingham, as much as 10cm of snow is possible overnight on Monday.
