Brits have been warned of "cloudy and patchy rain" today (May 15) with "thundery showers" later on in the week. The Met Office's latest forecasts state that the southwest of Scotland, and large parts of England will see spots of rain that will develop into more heavy showers later in the afternoon.
As we move into the evening, conditions will become more mild for most parts of the country, with showery spots throughout. Despite the dreary conditions, temperatures will remain relatively high throughout the UK.
Southern parts of England will see temperatures as high as 20C in the afternoon while the north will see slightly lower temperatures of 15C to 18C. READ MORE: LIVE updates as Co-op Live prepares to open for its first official gig with Elbow performing Speaking of today's forecast, the Met Office said: "Rather cloudy with patchy rain across southwest Scotland, northern, eastern and some central parts of England, turning locally heavy.
Warm spells of sunshine elsewhere, but with a few showers, these also locally heavy in the south." For tonight, it added: "Cloud and patchy rain easing in central areas, and showers dying away for all but the far southwest, allowing some patchy mist and fog in places.
