The UK is set for a washout Christmas as heavy rain spreads across most of the country as it prepares to be hit by the tail end of a US storm.
This morning Brits will wake up to scattered showers battering parts of Britain with the Met Office warning of a risk of thunder and hail later in the day.
The rest of the week is forecast to see the worst of the wet weather, with downpours and strong winds across England, Scotland and Wales.
Temperatures will still struggle to get into double figures until later in the week, however lows low enough to give us a White Christmas is looking unlikely.
