Temperatures are set to tumble to as low as 0C in the UK this week with a colder than average December ahead. After a mild weekend, temperatures will be chilly on Monday morning after dipping to as low as 4C overnight in the south of England.
And the mercury will drop to 0C in Edinburgh on Wednesday as forecasters predict a cold December. Many areas of the UK will enjoy some bright weather on Monday after early mist clears.
The North West of England will get some rain, which will be heavy in parts of Scotland, with strong to gale-force winds accompanying it.
Meanwhile forecasters say temperatures could drop to as low as -5C in England and -10C in Scotland during one of the coldest Decembers in years.
