UK should slow down vaccine rollout to help poorer countries, SAGE member says

The UK must start donating vaccines to poorer countries now - even though it'd slow down our rollout, a SAGE member has said.

Sir Jeremy Farrar urged the government to "plot a path" to donations "today" to stop new variants "coming back to haunt us".

Boris Johnson has pledged to donate more than half the UK's surplus jabs through the Covax scheme - but has not said when that will start.

Sir Jeremy also suggested the UK should stop chasing a late order of 5million doses from India as the country faces a new wave.
