UK's Eurovision entry confirmed ahead of socially distanced Rotterdam show

The UK has found its Eurovision champion. The act representing us in the contest later this year will be none other than James Newman - returning for duty after 2020's show was ditched.

James - older brother of hitmaker John Newman - was lined up at the end of February last year, just three weeks before the UK was plunged into the first lockdown.

Now bosses are hoping to pull off a socially distanced show in Rotterdam in May, with James taking to the stage on behalf of his native Blighty.

After his track My Last Breath earned critical acclaim last year, he's been tasked with writing a fresh tune for the contest.
