Passengers arriving in the UK will be charged £1,750 to stay in quarantine hotels for 10 days under strict new border rules.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock finally announced plans to tighten up Britain’s borders from Monday, a year after the Covid pandemic arrived on our shores.

Arrivals who lie about whether they have been in “red list” countries where they might be exposed to new Covid strains face up to 10 years in prison.

Everybody arriving will now have to take three gold standard PCR tests - and will be hit by heavy fines if they don’t. Below is a thorough run down of the new rules.
