UK families share bathwater as DWP's £10 Christmas bonus deemed insufficient

The Department for Work and Pensions has faced harsh criticism over what has been described as a "meaningless" bonus, amidst claimants stating that despite having families of five, they are compelled to share bathwater to scrape by.

Those hit hard by the Cost of Living crisis are advocating for an increase in the DWP Christmas benefit bonus beyond the meagre £10.

Talking to INews, 43-year-old Stephen Farrell, a father from the North West with two disabled children, shared his concerns: "We are already preparing for the worst.

We are cutting back now to prepare for what could be coming." He highlighted the issue of stagnant benefits, saying: "Nothing raises in line with inflation.
