The number of people to have died after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has reached 38,489. The death toll has risen by 113 from 38,376 at the same point on Saturday (May 30).
The fugure includes reported deaths at hospitals, care homes and the wider community. A Department of Health and Social Care statement reads: "As of 9am 31 May, there have been 4,285,738 tests, with 115,725 tests on 30 May.
274,762 people have tested positive. "As of 5pm on 30 May, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK, 38,489 have sadly died." NHS England has announced 85 futher deaths of people, bringing the total number of confirmed fatal cases in the country to 26,614.
