Last week Nines dropped his fourth album Crop Circle 2 and it's another certified banger from one of the finest storytellers on the U.K.
scene. Across tracks like "Tony Soprano 2," "Calendar," and "Highly Blessed," Nines looks back over a life spent between drug dealing and rapping, finding himself aging out of the former and using the latter to recall, among other anecdotes, stories from a 2021 prison stint.
The album is Nines' first since 2020 project Crabs In A Bucket but is the follow-up to the first Crop Circle, released in 2018.
With that album Nines directed a short film to accompany the music and he has returned to the director's chair once. Crop Circle 2 is a 45-minute-long narrative feature that begins with a robbery and includes moments of romance, drama, and even some comedy courtesy of a negotiation with an elderly lady.
