The long-standing saga surrounding Tyson Fury's next opponent is set to finally come to a close, with Dillian Whyte getting his title shot.
The WBC had already mandated the title defence for the Gypsy King but negotiations with Whyte have been problematic, with the London fighter unhappy with his split.
Fury 's camp are offering an 80-20 split, something the WBC has approved, but Whyte's corner are pushing for more - leading to lengthy delays.
Purse bids have been pushed back on no fewer than four occasions but are set to finally go ahead today in Mexico City. The Mail reports that it comes after talks with Anthony Joshua regarding a step-aside agreement collapsed, ending any hope that a unification bout between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk would be pushed forward.
