Two women suffered serious burns to their skins after an attack at a property in Carfin yesterday.The pair aged 21 and 42 were attacked by two men who arrived in a small car, smashed a window and threw a corrosive substance on them.Both women sustained serious burns to their skin and were taken to University Hospital Wishaw by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

They were later released following treatment.The incident took place around 12.05am on Sunday June 7 at the address on Motherwell Road.Police have started a manhunt for the two suspects who are said to have burnt out the car they used a short time later.The vehicle, believed to be a Suziki Baleno was found in North and South Road in Motherwell yesterday.Enquiries to identify the men.
