Two university students who went to confront a young man that they suspected of committing a sexual assault ended up breaking into his flat while he was out, a court heard.
CCTV footage showcased Joshua Madamidola and Goriola Maiceal repeatedly banging on the door of the student's flat . When there was no answer they attacked the door of the flat in Leicester with a weapon, leaving stab marks on it.
After about ten minutes of this, Madamidola, 22, kicked the door down and off its hinges - which cost £500 to replace. Maiceal, 23, went into the property and helped himself to a satchel containing a bank card and ID card.
At Leicester Crown Court, Madamidola, who did not enter the flat, pleaded guilty to causing damage while Maiceal admitted to burglary and theft, Leicestershire Live writes.Prosecutor, Quiana Fitzpatrick, said that the noise caused by all the banging resulted in other students coming out of their rooms to see what was going on.
