Two people have been taken to hospital after a horror crash on the M80. Police have confirmed that the male driver and female passenger of a vehicle were taken by ambulance to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the smash at around 1.30pm on Saturday.
Fire and rescue crews were called to the scene to help free the pair from the car. The extent of their injuries remains unknown.
Images from the scene show several emergency vehicles and a Transport Scotland incident support van positioned around a white car.
The crash has closed off the motorway between junctions 6a and 7 at Haggs, between Falkirk and Cumbernauld, while police carry out enquiries into its cause.
