A man and a woman remain in hospital after a car smashed into a line of trees in Kirkcaldy on New Year's Eve. The black Vauxhall Corsa was travelling north-east on the A921 in the Fife town at around 5.45am on Friday December 31 when it appeared to lose control and leave the road.
It collided with a set of trees near the Nether Street roundabout junction before coming to a stop. A 45-year-old man and 34-year-old woman were rushed to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
The woman has since been transferred to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and both remain in hospital. Following the smash, police have now issued a fresh appeal for information to work out how exactly the crash happened.
