For the latest news from in and around Wigan sign up to the MyWigan newsletter here A man and woman were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in a bungalow in Wigan in the early hours of Sunday.
Firefighters were called to Elm Avenue in Standish just after midnight. At the height of the blaze neighbouring properties were advised to keep their doors and windows closed as around 20 firefighters battled to extinguish the flames.
The fire started in the loft and spread next door. Pictures from the scene show a large hole in the roof of the bungalow. An investigation into the cause of the blaze has been launched.
