Two iconic BBC shows dropped from main channel in schedule shake-up

Countryfile and the Antiques Roadshow will be dropped from BBC One thanks to the channel covering the Paris Olympic Games that kick off today (26 July).

Both Countryfile and Antiques Roadshow will fail to be broadcast on their usual BBC One.The shows are Sunday night staple's on the BBC’s main channel but will find themselves in a brand new home this weekend and both programmes will instead be on BBC Two.

Countryfile will broadcast at 7pm followed by Antiques Roadshow an hour later.They are however not the only two shows to face the ramifications of the Paris games this weekend with more disruptions ahead.

BBC Breakfast will also be shortened to accommodate the Olympics and will be just 45 minutes long throughout next week. It will still kick off at 6am live from the MediaCityUK studio, hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Statyt will wrap up at 8am to allow JJ Chalmers and Jeanette Kwakye to broadcast the first full day of highlights live from Paris And the same is set to happen yet again on both Sunday (28 July) and Monday (29 July).The Olympics will also see another BBC show, Morning Live, taken off the air across summer as it fills the morning, noon and night output.
