Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Two dead after major crash on Scots road as police launch appeal for information

Two people have died following a major road crash in Orkney. Emergency services raced to the location near Coo Road, Sanday, at around 8.40am on Friday, March 25.Tragically, the local couple, a 39-year-old man and 34-year-old, were pronounced dead at the scene.They are believed to be locals and their families have been made aware of their passing.Police Scotland officers are now appealing for further information regarding the fatal collision.

Chief Inspector Ali Garrow said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of those who sadly lost their lives."They are a local couple and their families are aware.“Officers from Police Scotland’s road traffic unit are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what has happened.“We are asking anyone who may have seen what happened or has information that could help our investigation to get in touch."If you were in the area and have dash-cam, or anything else that could assist officers please contact us.”Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident no.
