Two boys have appeared in court charged with murdering Alan Szelugowski in a Salford park. Mr Szelugowski suffered fatal stab wounds in Clowes Park shortly after 7.30am on Sunday January 30 this year, less than a month after his 17th birthday.
In March Greater Manchester Police charged a boy of 17 with murder. On Tuesday night, the force charged two more boys, one 16 and the other 17, with murder. The 17-year-old appeared at the youth court alone in the morning. He spoke only to confirm his date of birth and address in Salford.
No plea was asked for during the brief hearing. The boy's parents were in court. Chair of the bench Joan Cooper adjourned the case until Friday, May 27, when the youth will appear at Manchester Crown Court.
