Two 12-year-old girls were taken to hospital after being struck by a car on Sunday evening (October 2). Police closed off the major road in Liverpool as the scene was examined by officers.

Poulton Road in Wallasey was blocked off in both directions after a Honda V-Tec crashed into the two young pedestrians at the junction with Eastcroft Road.

Emergency services were called at around 5.25pm. Both girls have been taken to hospital, understood by The Echo to be Alder Hey, with road closures in place from Devereux Drive to Greencroft Road.
